Happy New Year! I couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in 2011 than having James here in Shanghai, a city I have come to love and now call home! We spent New Year's Eve at New Heights, a bar with quite possibly the BEST view of the Bund in all of Shanghai! The rest of the weekend we toured various areas of the city including; Taikang Lu, the old city, the fabric market, the pearl market, the French Concession, Xujahui, and ShinTienDi. We had Sunday brunch at one of our favorite spots and enjoyed every second of the weekend. During the week, we did dinner and movie nights with friends and James was even able to go to Hangzhou, a nearby city about 2hours away on bus. Thursday, we went to the Shanghai Circus (Chinese equivalent of Cirque De Sol) which was a great, extremely nerve-racking show of acrobats and near delth experiences. The second weekend was filled with more exploring of museums by day and bars by night! We shopped the fake market, picked up tailor made shirts from the fabric market and had another great Sunday brunch.
It was so wonderful having James here to experience this truly wonderful city and I look forward to more visits from home!
